Databases overview

A virtual database exposes the data behind a connection as a SQL Server–compatible database you can query and manage. This chapter covers creating and managing virtual databases.

Task	Description
Create a virtual database	Create a virtual database over a connection, in the GUI or with CREATE DATABASE.
Managing the database	Edit or remove an existing virtual database.
Cloning the database	Copy a virtual database onto another connection, as the first step of moving it there.
